KRST Local Country Showcase
I think some people may be surprised to learn that I grew up in rural area OUTSIDE of Albuquerque, not actually in Albuquerque proper. As such, something about growing up out in the wide open, meant Barn dances. two step, swing dancing and cowboy boots.
There’s an energy to barn and country dances. It’s dancing with partners you’ve never danced with to danced you’ve never danced and sometimes songs you’ve never heard. It’s following your partner to the rhythm, and dust in the air as your boots slide against the ground.
KRST’s local country showcase at Revel felt exactly like being 17 again. Albuquerque got it’s barn dance on.
Starting off the night strong was Kyle Martin and his band, followed by Austin Van’s deep baritone. Sarah Rowe absolutely destroyed as the only female lead act for the evening, followed by Daniel Solis. Nathaniel Krantz finished off the evening with a ton of energy.
